One of the aims of the Lechwe Trust is to promote art exhibitions, especially at our Lechwe Trust Art Gallery. Not only is the gallery a permanent home for our Heritage Art Collection, but also a suitable space to host retrospective, solo and joint exhibitions. This Quadruple Art Exhibition is an idea conceived by the Lechwe Trust Committee to exhibit a group of contemporary artists spanning two generations.
The Quadruple features Godfrey Mwikisa (63), Nukwase Tembo (35), Dennis Jere (38) and Mwamba Chikwemba (31). This show combines the artists’ provocative themes, idea expressions and multimedia through portraiture, abstract and surrealism. The subject matter of the exhibitors’ artworks may be classified as social commentary on ordinary aspects of both traditional and contemporary Zambian lifestyles.
Lechwe Trust hopes that the bright colours and theme of each of the 62 art piece on display, relates with every viewer’s expectation, interpretation and a starting point for conversations.
The exhibition is open until 3rd September 2023.
