‘Reflections: A Celebration of the Mbile Art Workshop Legacy’ celebrates the lasting impact of the Mbile art workshops, which shaped Zambia's art scene during the 1990s.

The first Mbile workshop was held in a village-inspired, art residence setting, on the shores of Lake Kariba, Siavonga, in 1993. Mbile, meaning ‘the call’ in the Bemba language, brought together local and international artists who attended these extraordinary workshops, sharing ideas and inspiration.

The exhibition also features works from Godfrey Setti's personal art collection, and includes paintings by Eddie Mumba (1953- 2024), Adam Mwansa, and Patrick Mumba.

This glimpse into Zambia's artistic heritage is made possible through the generous donation of both collections, by the Godfrey Setti family, to Lechwe Trust in 2024. The two collections had been hidden from the public view for over twenty-five years and have finally found a permanent home at Lechwe Trust.

Join us in celebrating artistic collaboration and the Mbile legacy.
