On display now at the Lechwe Trust Art Gallery is p a r l i a m e n t, a sales exhibition, which, on Thursday 16th March 2023, saw over one hundred art lovers from Lusaka and beyond grace the opening of this owl-themed exhibition by Agness Buya Yombwe, one of Zambia’s creative and versatile senior artists. Agness is the co-director of Wayi Wayi Studio and Art gallery in Livingstone.
The exhibition features her most recent artworks which include sculpture, prints, drawings, paintings and - in true Agness spirit - an installation of Mbusa-inspired works in a 'secret' room in the gallery.
Agness' use of various media is incredible and this exhibition is evidence that art can even bring back to life unusual materials that were once discarded, and sales, as expected, were brisk
